Look at this, I’ve had one solid week of posting again, and I’m already getting lost in doing other things and not getting to the posts, but hey, that’s ok, right? Sometimes life just happens all around us and we have to go along for the ride. So, what is going on? I’m glad you asked!
This upcoming weekend we are looking forward to having Miss B with us for an entire week! We have lots of fun stuff planned, but before any of that can happen, there is a lot of other stuff that must happen first. I am a terrible, awful, horrible procrastinator. No, I don’t think I said that right. I’m actually a very proficient procrastinator. So proficient that once again I’m down to the wire to get the house in order for family to be here, and to have an impromptu birthday celebration for my son. My head whirls to think about it, so tonight (Monday night) is the last evening this week I can sit on my backside and make my lists. I have to get home tomorrow and hit the ground running. I know that it is doable, I just wish I could snap my fingers and have it all organized and ready to go. Wouldn’t that be nice?
We are nearly halfway through August and summer will be over before we know it. The leaves are already starting to turn brown and fall off the trees, though that could be the heat. It’s darker in the mornings, which makes it very difficult – well, at least more difficult than usual – to crawl out of bed and it’s already completely dark out here and it’s barely after 9 p.m.! I don’t mind it getting dark earlier in the evening, but I’m not a big fan of dark in the morning. That’s backwards from most people, but I never did like being part of the crowd. In all honesty, I am really ready for autumn colors, flavors and cooler temperatures. I had a craving for a pumpkin spice mocha yesterday, AND I ordered some Mrs. Meyer’s Pumpkin Spice cleaning supplies that were on pre-order with Grove.co. (not .com, .co) It’s a natural cleaning supply destination website with awesome freebies and incentives to order. I am already anticipating snuggly sweaters, hot cocoa, camping in the winter and my house smelling all clean and pumpkin spicy! And you know what happens after that???? Thanksgiving and Christmas! How exciting! I know I’m not ready for it right now, but I’m starting to feel that itch for the holiday season.
One last thought . . . be kind to yourselves this week. Do something special that you will appreciate, whether it’s making a special treat for yourself or your family, buying some delicious smelling cleaning supplies, taking a walk in the early morning air, or vegging out in front of a good movie with some fun snacks. If we treat ourselves well, we will feel better about not just ourselves, but everyone around us.
God bless you and I’ll see you soon.
