Chicken Soup for the Soul – A Little Something All Of Us Can Use from Time to Time

Six years ago today, our family was blessed with two new family members when our son married our beautiful daughter-in-law and grandson. A very Happy Anniversary to G and D.  It’s hard to believe that it has already been 6 years.  I love you both so much!

Today’s a slow celebration day, which is fine by me. I am trying to get out of the house earlier in the morning so maybe I can get off a little earlier in the afternoon. I’m sure the schedule will adjust itself at some point, but it’s going to take a little work on my part to make it happen.

Verse of the Day

November 12, 2019

In all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.

Romans 8:37

Thoughts on the Verse of the Day

Are we really conquerors despite “trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword”? Yes! That is the ultimate Christian assurance. Nothing can separate us from God’s love in Christ. The Evil One and his allies can kill our bodies, ruin our finances, wrack our bodies with pain, and seek to destroy our relationships. However, the Evil One cannot have our hearts when they are surrendered to Jesus. And when our hearts belong to Jesus, so does our future! The empty tomb of Jesus assures us that our future with him is glorious, victorious, and unending.

Chicken Soup for The Soul Day – is a celebration about you and me . . . about all of us.  According to the people who created the book series by this name, this celebration was created to celebrate who you are, where you’ve been, where you’re going, and who you will be thankful to when you get there.   This is a day of the value and healing powers of chicken soup – be it for the body, or for the soul.  This is healing that is homemade and comes from the heart.

National Young Readers DayI was an avid reader as a child. Still am, truth be told, though I don’t take as much time for it now as I should. I would have thought the older I got, the more time I’d have for reading, but that just isn’t the case. Today is a day to give young readers a chance to celebrate by reading with your kids or having them read to you. Giving a new book as a gift for this special day would be a good way to get started! If a child’s love of reading starts young, they will likely enjoy it for the rest of their lives.

Food Celebration of the Day –

National Pizza with the Works Except Anchovies DayNo offense to cheese pizza, but it’s the toppings that really make the pie. In this case, go sweet, salty or with a combination of both. Just hold the fish! For me the perfect Pizza with Everything would be – cheese, pepperoni, salami, olives, pineapple, green peppers, tomato slices and bacon!  It HAS to have bacon.

Hm . . . we usually have tacos on Tuesday – I know, it’s expected, but we love tacos – but that pizza is sounding pretty good. Well, it can wait until Friday. I already have everything I need for the tacos.

Have a wonderful day! I’ll see you tomorrow.
