Since I was a small child, I have had an annual request that I make to God. I ask for snow. I don’t even care of it sticks, though I won’t object if it does, but I love to watch it fall. I love the aroma, the steel grey hue of the sky, and the bite that the chill brings to my cheeks. I love everything about it! I get just as excited at the prospect of snow now as I did when I was little. Most years I am disappointed. Sometimes I get snow a few days before, or a few days after, but RARELY on the actual day. This year though. This year I got my birthday wish.
At about 10:00 p.m. on my birthday, right before I went to bed, it started to snow! I stood on the porch, my breath sending wisps of swirling clouds into the air, and I watched the flakes dancing their way to earth. With a sigh, and a sincere Thank You to God, I went to sleep that night, happy to have gotten my long awaited birthday wish.
According to the weather guessers, we may get an encore snow fall tonight, and I will be just as happy to see it as I was last night. Well . . . almost.
God bless you. I’ll see you soon.
